Philanthropic Organizations

Philanthropic organizations are nonprofit nongovernmental entities that utilize donated assets and income to provide social useful services. Community foundations, endowments and charitable trusts are types of philanthropic organizations. When properly organized and operated for specific purposes, donations to philanthropic organizations are tax deductible and the nonprofit organization is exempt from paying federal income tax.
